Wacked Out Internal GPS…

By Chris Rugh | February 25, 2010

EverybodyPhilosophy of Life Wacked Out Internal GPS... has heard of the word intuition, but how many of you out there really believe in the power of the inner voice?  Being a business person myself, I have long since learned to trust my inner voice.  It has guided me through plenty of business deals, and more than once it saved me millions, just by listening to the little voice inside my head warning me against the decision I was about to make.

To give you an example, I have a vacation house I rent out to prospective clients.  Last week, I received an application for a family who wanted to rent the house for three days.  I was happy to have someone apply to rent the house, though I would rather rent the house out for a seven day time period.  So at that time, something just told me to turn the offer down and of course within hours another family mailed me, inquiring about renting the house out for a seven day period.  It is important to leave room for guidance from your inner voice or internal GPS as I call it.

Now unfortunately, most of us have lost tune with this inner GPS system called intuition.  I think the general noise of life, the busy schedules we keep, and the constant thoughts & worries we entertain inside our heads, completely drown out this very important, instinctual guidance system.  On the other hand, we sometimes do hear this inner voice warning or leading us, but through our analytical judgmental ways of thinking, we end up going in totally the wrong direction, which we normally regret shortly afterward.

Start making time for yourself again.  We must start getting to know our inner beings again, enabling us to recognize our inner voices, especially at the crucial times when it normally does speak to us.   Start spending some time alone with yourself, pay attention to your inner feelings and moods, and you will start tuning in to your internal GPS again, and then start reaping the rewards.  Like me, you will be able to make beneficial split second decisions, based on a gut feeling, guiding yourself to a life of greatness, wealth, and prosperity.

Now especially since people often ignore their inner GPS for long periods, in the beginning it will be hard distinguishing between our GPS, and our normal analytical thoughts and opinions.  For me, the easiest way of distinguishing between the two is to listen to that first initial thought you have on a specific matter.

Say, someone comes to you with a business proposition; normally you will immediately have thoughts and opinions after listening to the proposition.  It is that very first thought that pops up, which is when the actual inner voice is talking to you.  Our inner GPS signals the necessary message to our thoughts regarding the matter at hand, but within seconds, we normally start analyzing that thought from our inner voice, and more often than not, we end up discarding it, thinking that there is no physical proof that GPS’s idea would be the right way to go.

Start listening to your true inner voice, leaving some space for guidance from your true being.  Like I’ve said plenty of times before, make time for yourself and your own needs, and get to know your own personal guidance counselor, namely your internal GPS, that sits at the center of your own being.  Come on, these days everybody owns a GPS to help them get from point A to B, using a GPS to show them the shortest & safest root.  So what makes you think that you can avoid the potholes of life, and follow the best routes by ignoring your internal GPS?

For those not in tune with their inner GPS. It can take some time and practice to re establish or refine that connection. Sometimes my GPS will steer me off in some seemingly random direction while my mind says “That’s not the logical way to go!”. I have learned to say to my mind “Well…maybe, maybe not. Let’s just wait and find out.”
