Speaking – a Verbal Ass Whipping…

speaking

When you say the dreadful words of PUBLIC   SPEAKING, everybody’s stomachs suddenly start turning inside out and unwanted feelings of fear and disease suddenly takes over.  However, public speaking is nothing other than the 99% of normal communication we do on a daily basis.  If you sit down and think about it, all successful projects and other triumphs all involved communication as the base form.

On the other hand, the same goes for losses and other failures, bad communication skills can ruin even the best business plan if it isn’t communicated properly.  So as you can see, even if you don’t want to admit to it now, good communication skills are vital for successful business dealings, as well as developing  better personal relationships.  It builds confidence, and helps you soar higher with each goal you attain.

Now unfortunately there is no Fairy-godmother that could wave her magic wand and loosen your tongue to become an expert speaker, and eliminating that fear we all harbor against public speaking.  But I have good news for you; I’ve got something that is even better than having your very own Fairy-godmother: namely – YOU…

We need to start taking baby steps, building ourselves up to a point where good articulation & successful public speaking becomes part of our daily lives.  The first thing you must learn, and start understanding, is that people are almost always eager to listen to what other people have to offer, the inquisitive part of our beings drives us forward to communicate and build our knowledge.

Articulating your ideas in a powerful, and passionate manner will captivate your audience, and herein lays the secret.  Whatever subject you are speaking about, be it at the office with work related issues, or at home with relationship issues, be knowledgeable on the subject, it must carry substance, with clear evidence backing up whatever theory it is that you want to bring across.

Now when trying to bring your point across, fear will always try and bring you down, but the best weapon to fight fear with is knowledge.  Focus on whatever goal it is that you are chasing, becoming knowledgeable in every aspect of that topic.  You will then not only defeat the fear of being put in the spotlight, but you will start speaking like a true pro, gaining the trust and the votes of whatever audience you have.  It is normally those people who speak well, who will win the business tenders, and even in love- who will win the girl of their dream’s heart.  In the same breath you can say that person who is able to speak well and articulate his thoughts in a professional manner that walks away with the main prize…

The sooner we all realize that we ALL are public speakers at heart, the sooner we can start reaping the rewards.  Have you ever noticed the positive energy, charisma, wealth, & prosperity, career-based public speakers radiate?  Most people fear death more than public speaking, so in essence, those who have overcome their fear of public speaking have surpassed the fear of death.  They radiate this positive energy because they believe in themselves, they believe in what they are saying, making them passionate, which makes listeners objective and open for new ideas.

Don’t you think it’s time to let that speaker within you out of its box, and start attaining your goals, building your general knowledge, and blowing the socks off the competition!

God gave us all a voice; now learn how to speak and use it to your benefit.  Remember, there is a difference between talking and communicating.  I’d rather be involved in the latter, with communication intelligent thoughts are swopped between people, where talking is just a one-sided mindless rambling, which most people do all day long.  COMMUNICATE with people, or whatever audience you have to engage with.
