This fall James Madison University student Bennett Resnik will be touring college campuses talking to students about the building of social capital and how to build, grow, and sustain a network of contacts in our digital, computer fueled generation.
"I wanted to develop a lecture for other college students to provide meaning to networking, using my knowledge and firsthand experiences" said Resnik.
"The Hands We Shake" lecture series will be taking place at Harvard University, John Hopkins University, Northwestern University, Boston College, MIT, and American University.
"I want to help students navigate the jungle that is social networking, aiding them in finding jobs after graduation," said Resnik.
Bennett Resnik is the CEO of the Inter- Collegiate Consulting Network; an international platform for college and university based consulting groups to further their networks, exchange ideas on consulting projects and foster consulting skills necessary to further their careers.
His first hand experiences fuels the seminar series giving students a view on a traditionally adult arena.
After starting his own company to aid student groups across the nation, Resnik began to focus on empowering students through networking tools.
"It is not the grades you make, but rather the hands you shake that impact our future careers," said Resnik.
