Management Tip - The Law of Process

Management Tip - The Law of Process

Growth and development goes through method.  Leadership develops everyday and not just in a day.  Process is important to make sure that goals and objectives are met and accomplished.

John Maxwell, an identified leadership guru mentioned in his book The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership”, included Process among the leadership laws.  And the greatest source of information, the bible cited in Romans 10:14 that salvation has to go through a approach (Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear with out a preacher?).

Our point here is that if one would want to find out how to manage groups effectively, a manager or a leader should not set aside the significance of going by means of processes.  Shortcuts do not make sure good results.  There’s a step-by-step way of dealing with our tasks to be able to grow and meet our targets.

Let us appear at the method of communication.  There is no such thing as 1-way communication.  It often involves a speaker or transmitter, a topic or data to transfer, a channel, and a receiver.  Then feedback or response is required to make certain that the receiver or listener understands the message.  When there is exchange of feedback, then that’s the time that you can call it a communication.

In managing groups, the leader really should have a working knowledge of the approach.  It answers the question “How?”  How will you lead them to attain the goal?  For example in a business, staff should be conscious of the corporate goal or mission.    Now, how can it be achieved?  They need to get as significantly assist and cooperation from members of the company… those who shares in the vision and mission of the organization.  To do so, they ought to be informed of the objective tell them that to turn into a member, they want to go by means of the procedure of recruitment – 1) attend orientation, 2) fill-up the membership form, 3) sign a contract, four) secure ID, 5) attend normal meetings and other activities to be informed and to be involved.  A member can only say that he’s involved if he or she is able to go by means of these processes, which are the standard procedures in the said firm.  The same goes with other organizations and they generally call these processes as Standard Operations Procedures (SOP).
