A guest speaker delivers the message your employees need to hear. I love words. I love the way they sound. I love the subtle differences between two different words. When I was a kid, I got so mad once I called a teacher a ‘termagant.’ In case, you don’t know…it’s not a compliment. It is an insult which refers to a loud, boisterous, bossy, quarrelsome woman. Yep. That’s what I called my teacher…and she heard me. Well, you may think that I was severely punished or suspended from school. Nope. Since I had learned a humdinger of a word, which my teacher didn’t know and had to look up, I was congratulated for my awesome vocabulary and cautioned not to use the word again to refer to my teacher. Sweet!
I tell you this story because I love to interact with business audiences as a guest speaker. I love to talk. I love to communicate with the words I love, to deliver the corporate message which employees need to hear. When I was thinking about this blog message, I decided to look up the word ‘speaker’ in a dictionary. If you go back, the word ‘speaker’ referred to an electronic or electromagnetic device for converting signals into sound. When you think about it, that’s what I do, as a guest speaker for your corporate audience.
As your guest speaker, I find out the message you need delivered to your team. I take the goals, or policies you want presented, and I convert these corporate ‘signals’ or message into ‘sound’ advice. I develop my presentation around the framework of the message you want to convey. The fun for me is in finding the words, the stories, and the business illustrations from my personal experience in business, to effectively communicate sound business policy for your corporate team.
So if you are looking for a guest speaker for your event, retreat, or dinner, give me a call, I promise you..Your employees will not refer to me as a megalomaniac.
