Authentic Empowerment is The Understanding That You Are on Purpose, Doing God?s Work, Peacefully And Harmoniously - Wayne Dyer

Jesus went up the mountain and summoned those whom He wanted and they came to Him. He appointed Twelve, whom He also named Apostles, that they could be with Him and He might send them forth to preach and to have authority to drive out demons: He appointed the Twelve: Simon, whom He named Peter James, son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, whom He named Boanerges, that is, sons of thunder Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus Thaddeus, Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Him.

A lot of ancient cultures regarded as mountains as the dwelling of God. So, when Jesus took the Twelve up the mountain, they knew that one thing significant was going to take place to their lives. First, Jesus chose them out of the a lot of disciples. Jesus brought them close to Him so that He could impart His teachings to them. They would also be given the authority to drive out demons. Second, He appointed them on a mountain to give significance to their mission. Third, He gave Simon the name “Peter” and James and John the names “Sons of Thunder” in preparation of their roles they had been to play later in their lives. Even the number of Apostles was important. Twelve of them were selected to represent the twelve tribes of Israel. Such a time and gesture created the Apostles realise the significance and they grew from an ordinary folks into extra-ordinary ones.

Corporate Leadership

No one man can do all the function himself. Even in a modest department, a staff who attempts to take on all the function will locate himself over stretched, frustrated and resentful. Jesus knew that His time on earth would come to an end and He had to fulfil His purpose of preaching the Gospel. He empowered twelve of His disciples to preach and gave them the authority to heal. Likewise, a good leader does not do all the work himself. He empowers his staff by coaching them and giving them a purpose to fulfil. He imparts his understanding and abilities so that his efficiency and effectiveness are multiplied by means of those he has taught. In performing that, he also recognises their abilities and gains their trust. Wayne Dyer, American motivational speaker said, “Authentic empowerment is the realizing that you are on purpose, doing God’s function, peacefully and harmoniously.” - XW
