5 Signs You Need a Business Coach
If you are one of those CEOs or business owners out there that can’t catch a break, or you find that you aren’t even enjoying being a CEO or your business is pulling in piddly, then you may need to look into consulting a business coach. Check out the five top signs you need a business coach.
First and foremost, you work more than your employees. You work longer days, longer hours, and you barely take a vacation. Wake the hell up. You probably need a business coach. A business coach will help you examine your business structure, your staff structure and help you figure out where you are spending all your time. The reason why you hire employees is for them to work for you. So make them work for you! One of the best parts about owning or operating a business is so you can hire a bunch of people to run your business while you rake in the profits.
Second, your business makes shit. You spend all these hours working, paying your employees, for what? It’s time to change all that. I mean, let’s face it. We get into a business because we wanna make the big bucks. Plain and simple. So why waste time running a business for peanuts? Making more money and spending less time at work is the ultimate goal here, and a business coach will show you how.
Third, you make dumbass decisions. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. However, there’s nothing worse than making a poor decision with your business on the line. One stupid decision can be costly, and I don’t mean just financially, you could literally lose everything, your home, your kids’ college funds, your retirement funds, you name it. One poor decision and say goodbye to all your investments. This isn’t meant to scare you, but rather help you wake up and realize you need a business coach.
Fourth, you could be a better leader. Who couldn’t? However, you are finding it harder and harder to keep good, efficient employees. You may micromanage or may not know how to be an effective leader that your staff respects you for. Or worse…you may not KNOW you are micromanaging. Here’s a tip. Employees hate managers that micromanage. And I know more than anyone, letting go and allowing your team to function for you is one of the hardest transitions a CEO or business owner has to do. It is easy to think no one else can do it better than you. You’re wrong. And the sooner you admit that and becoming willing to change your managerial habits, the better your business will function. Trust me.
Finally, you may be losing customers or competition. This sucks. You may think you are implementing all the correct business strategies or tactics to make your business successful, spending money on marketing campaigns here and there but have nothing to show for it. I don’t have to tell you that this can be hazardous. You probably already know, but you do need a business coach. A business coach will be able to analyze all your strategies, marketing methods, managerial styles and try to figure out where the problems lie. Sometimes even seeking advice from a third party or bouncing questions off a business coach can be extremely helpful.
All in all, if you find yourself nodding your head as you read this, or feel like you fit one of the descriptions above, it is definitely a good idea to call a business coach. You’ll find that by talking with an expert, you will begin to see your business turn around, your employees will respect you more as a leader, your profits will increase, and you’ll have some time to take a damn vacation!
